Staff Laptop Web Proxy Settings

Staff users will need to adjust the following setting on their laptop whenever Internet access is needed outside of the school:

• Open the Start menu and type the word proxy.
• Select Turn automatic proxy detection on or off(or one of the other similar items).
  • For outside of the school, enable the option for Automatically detect settings. Untick the option Use a proxy server.
  • In school, disable the option for Automatically detect settings and enable the option Use a proxy server.
    The server and port settings should be in place still, but if not, revert the changes. You will still have basic web access still until your computer configures itself for staff level access within an hour or so.
